Q: How can I check if I have a problem with my air suspension myself on my Lincoln LS and is that what it is?
Own a 2001 Lincoln Ls. I asked a question earlier about road bumpiness and got the answer it could be air suspension, shocks, or struts.
Is there any way to know what it is? How can I check the air suspension myself by just a look and see if anything major is broke?
The only thing is I read other people's questions, and the car does not really bounce when I push on it just doing the simple push test, the back didnt bounce at all, the front did bounce twice (Is that too much?) So it could be totally broke on back, or it could be alright right?
When I go over bumps I feel all the bumps, but my car does not bounce. Not able to tell if the car is lower than it should be or not.
Before going to mechanic, any tips on what I can look at and test myself?
I already know from reading other questions air suspension is very expensive like 1800 to fix and all..
I went before to have a Firestone inspection after buying the vehicle, and they said it was in great mechanical condition just needed back tires.
Had the tires replaced at Sam's Club with Goodyear Tires. Told them to look at alignment.
Neither place said noticed any problem with air suspension, but then maybe its something you have to look for?
A: The LS does not have air suspension. The design of the suspension of the LS is for handling purposes, this paired with the 55 series tires that are installed factory will cause you to be able to feel bumps in the road. All LSs that I have ever driven have a bumpy ride, due to the stiffness of the suspension. It is made to handle well, not with a soft suspension like the Continental.
Q: where can I buy angel eye headlights not the kit. and the clear side turn signal for 01 Lincoln ls?

A: Check out e-bay for the Eagle eye headlights and clear corners,I bought my heads and clears for my F-150 from e-bay, I've had them on my truck for a year now and they still look great,check them out.
Q: Should I put only Premium Fuel in my 2001 Lincoln LS and what do I need to do anything to change octanes?
Should I put only Premium Fuel in my 2001 Lincoln LS, and how do I switch fuel octanes?
The advice in the manual says to only put Premium as far as recommendation but that others can be put in, is it going to affect performance that much by putting Medium 89 in it instead of Premium?
And I have heard that it messes with the fuel filter and performance to just suddenly switch fuel octanes. Is this true?
A: I have a 2000 LS with 95k miles on it and I usually put the mid grade in it.....I have always done this as did the previous owner (who is a personal friend) every once in a while I will run a tank of "High" test in it but rarely. I haven't had any problems with the fuel system period. As for performance wise, it doesn't seem to be affected there either.
Q: I am considering in purchasing a Lincoln LS?
I am planning in purchasing a lincoln ls. Do you recommend me to purchase a 2005-2007 Lincoln LS? I have not heard anything bad about it. But what do you think about them?
A: The reliability rating is awful on Lincoln LS, according to Consumer Reports. I'd take such ratings with grain of salt though... as they are known to be contradictory on same cars sold under different names.
Are you aware, Lincoln LS requires premium gas?
Also be aware, if you buy one that is certified USED, there is a co-pay of 50 dollars required for every visit.
I test drove one. It was quiet, powerful, and very nice indeed. I drove the 6 cylinder version.
Q: What is ETC FailSafe mode on my Lincoln Ls?
I own an '04 Lincoln LS and i was driving through the snow yesterday when i was having a little trouble making it up a hill, my car stalled and on my dash it said ETC FailSafe and i had to restart my car. This happened twice. Does anybody have any idea what this could be?
A: On a LS when they go into failsafe mode it could be serious, Difinety need to get a proper diagnostic done preferably a lincoln dealer. If you continue to drive it and ignore the warning the problem could balloon on you. Let me know how it goes

Or if you dont care junk yards have them for about half the price. If your lucky you may find one the same color.

I bought a lincoln LS V8 - 04" and I want to switch the grille out with the new one I ordered. I ordered the new one which is the LSE Grille - Nicer looking one of the two I think.... How does the old one come off and the new one go on?

Q: How do you program a keyless entry remote for 2000 Lincoln LS?
i have tried turning ignition key on and off from 4-10 times but there is no door lock and unlock sign.... any options how to do it without dealer? OBD2 connection??? what pc program i could use to program keyless entry remote for my 2000 lincoln ls??? or any other options???? any help is help!!! thanks!!!
A: This model does not program with key cycle, need to go to dealer. Has to be programed with WDS or IDS.
Q: how do you know whick Lincoln LS is which?
I have the Ivory Parchment V8, there is a chrome outline one the front and rear bumpers, it is equipped with the Lincoln 17" Chrome Wheels. Wood Trimming throught the car including the steering wheel and shift knob. Is there a way to tell which LS I have?
A: My brother has a lincoln ls v8 but it is a sport cause it has a spoiler and 18" chrome wheels but i t has all the chrome and woodtrimso u don't have the sport or thev6 cause they only have 16" none of the chrome trim some have all the woo trim so yours isn't the top of the line it cost about 49,550

How much does it cost you to fill your LS up, how much was gas the last time you filled up, and which engine do you have, the V8 or V6? (I am thinking about buying a 2000 Lincoln LS, I have found two that I like, one is a v8 and other is v6)
A: If your concerned about economy, go with the V6. As for fuel cost. My 1978 MB 280E costs about $75 too fill (18 gals.) of Premium @ $4.28 to $4.65 per Gallon.
Q: Is it possible to hook up a sub and amp to the stock Alpine system in a Lincoln LS?
I just bought a 2000 Lincoln LS V8, and was wondering if i could get some harness or if the stock radio has the audio outs that i need to hook up the cables and the remote wire....i don't believe it does, but i figure i'd find out before i start tearing it apart or buying a new head unit - as the Alpine premium sound isn't half bad - just not quite enough.
A: wire the (+) straight to the battery
ground the (-)
the remote to the amp goes to any acc fuse block so that it turns on when you turn your key
your going to need a RCA converter
hook up your rear speaker wires (-) to (-) and (+) to (+) or they will cancel eachother out to the converter and your RCA wires to your amp
it will work fine but it will never sound as good as if you just got the head unit
also the head unit will be less trouble to wire since everything is color coded

I'm am considering purchasing a Lincoln LS tomorrow and I want some of your opinions about the car. I love the look of the car but I've read a lot of mixed reviews about the reliability and performance of the car. I'd like to hear from you Lincoln LS owners.
A: I like the car – it handles well. I have the V6 (2002) and get 16 city 24 hwy mpg. It has a sporty feel and is certainly comfortable but it rides stiff and takes bumps fairly hard. You won’t get a Town Car ride. The lower ball joints are a problem on many. The ball joints are not available aftermarket which puts replacement at a minimum of $1,100.00. I was surprised at how little I could get in the trunk.
Q: What kind of Rims will fit on a 2002 Lincoln LS?
I was told that there are only two types of Rims that will fit on a lincoln LS...is this true and if so which brand names are they?
