Q: What is the stock healight for 2008 Lincoln Navigator?
What is the temperature color in (K) of the HID bulbs in the 2008 Lincoln Navigator? Misplaced my manual and need to replace :\ I'm curious as to the color temperature of it also! I want to buy an HID kit for another vehicle with the same color light output.

A: it uses a bulb with a built in ballast(not available aftermarket). bad news is it costs around $150, good news is lincoln warranties them for 4 years or 50,000 miles. so unless you have put that many miles on it in one year just take it to the dealer and they will fix it for free. i have one and all it says is it is 35 watts.

Q: the check engine light flashes like 40 times and then goes off lincoln navigator?
it is a 1998 lincoln navigator just recently started to miss I that it was the spark plugs because I havent replace it since new (190000) later I change the spark plugs any ways it did't make a difference so I check all the coils ,..nathing now i don't know what to do, may be the wire harness ??? please help!! I replaced the o2 sensors about 4 month ago.

A: If your check engine light flashes PULL OVER AND SHUT THE ENGINE OFF!!!!!!! The light will flash when your catalytic converter is overheating to prevent you from ruining it. The converter is overheating because you are missfiring and dumping unburned gas through the catalytic converter. You have to find out why you are missfiring. But whatevere you do, pull over if the light flashes.

Q: Does the Lincoln Navigator Have a Tow Hitch?
Does the Lincoln Navigator have a tow hitch under that little cover in the rear?

A: Not standard. It's part of a $595 Heavy-Duty Towing Package.

Q: Can a Lincoln Navigator run on Regular Unleaded Gasoline instead of Premium Gasoline? Is there a difference?
Is Premium Unleaded (93) Gasoline a requirement, or an option? I would rather use Regular Unleaded (87) in the big gas hog. Would it hurt the engine or something? I don't see why I couldn't use Regular Unleaded? I am wanting to buy a Navigator, but if it has to be ran on Premium, I can't afford to use it. Please respond.

A: Excerpt from 2005 Lincoln Navigator owners manual (page 373): "Octane recommendations Your vehicle is designed to use “Premium” unleaded gasoline with an (R+M)/2 octane rating of 91 or higher for optimum performance. The use of gasolines with lower octane ratings may degrade performance. The use of gasolines labeled as “Premium” in high altitude areas that are sold with octane ratings of less than 91 is not recommended. Do not be concerned if your engine sometimes knocks lightly. However, if it knocks heavily under most driving conditions while you are using fuel with the recommended octane rating, see your dealer or a qualified service technician to prevent any engine damage."

Q: How do I restore the plastic silver center council in a Lincoln Navigator?
The Navigator has the center council that is silver and looks a little rough. Does anyone have any idea how to make it look new again. I think the Navigator is from 2003 and up. Thanks

A: Not sure Jimmy, but it's console. Maybe you can find one at a junkyard from a wrecked one.

Q: Are Lincoln navigator good reliable vehicle?
I was thinking about getting one but I don't want to waist my money if they have lots of problem like cadillacs do. If you have one please tell me your input. How long have you had your lincoln.

A: The 2007-2008 Navigators are excellent on reliability, while the 2006's and earlier are average. Here's the proof: http://autos.yahoo.com/lincoln_navigator_4x2-ratings/;_ylt=AuT3wpVT0aj63Zm6MsQEgcZH74h4;_ylv=3 So I would recommend a new one if it can fit your budget, but the earlier ones would be fine. STAY away from 2003's and 2004's. since they had the most problems than any year.

Q: 1999 lincoln navigator will not start after replacing starter, battery 100% charge and alternator fine?
New starter, battery 100% charge & alternator in good shape. When I turn the ignition key nothing happen, it seems like the power goes to ground.

A: sounds like the starter relay. easy to test. remove the cover(black cover near the battery on the firewall). it has three prongs. one is full time power one is switched power and one is signal(the little one is signal). first check the signal prong. you can dlo this by jumping it to full time power. if it starts then it is good and you are not getting signal. if it doesn't start. then jump the 2 big prongs together. if it starts then you have a bad relay. if not then either a bad starter(gotten a few bad right out of the box) or poor connections.

Q: I have a 1998 Lincoln Navigator is there a recall on the coil packs?
I just replaced #2 and now another one is bad. A friend of mine is a tech and he told me there is a recall on them is he right.

A: No there is not. Sounds to me like you got into a bad batch. I would search for a package deal on say ebay or the boneyard route to replace the rest to avoid headaches in the future.Fuel has nothing to do with coils, plugs yes, but coils no... Navigator coils are generally very dependable.

Q: Is the 1999 Lincoln Navigator air suspension system the same as the 2003?
I have 3 wheels working fine but the front passenger air bag leaks. Can I replace mine with one off a 1999 Navigator? Any suggestions? I have replaced the pump ad made manual switch. Has anyone done this and share experience.

A: ask a salvage yard they can tell you what years match up

Q: How can I get my Lincoln Navigator sold fast?
It's a 1998 in great condition.. NADA clean retail-$10,875. The problem is, with gas so expensive it's very hard to sell. What should I do to lure in prospective buyers?

A: if you sell it at a price below the market value. keep lowering the price. don't expect anyone to pay near the book value.

Q: I was wondering does the air ride on the lincoln navigator go out fast? And how can u tell if its going out?
I wanted to buy a lincoln navigator with 137,000 it a 2001 and is fullly loaded with navigation system but i feel like the air shocks is going to go out. How can i find out if they are gonna go out and $10,199 is the asking price is that too much? Is there a test i can run on the air shocks? Someone please help!! Thank You

A: The only way to check the air ride is to drive the vehicle. You need to understand how it works so you will know what to check for. Look at others to get an idea of the height in the wheel wells. When you get in the SUV and turn on the key it should pump up you will be able to hear the pump run for a few seconds. Now turn off the SUV and get out make sure all doors are closed and stand back and watch it should drop down a inch or so. If you find one that doesn't have the right height after sitting there is something wrong don't let a dealer tell you that its okay it will air up when you start it. Sure it will air up but something is wrong if it is not sitting at the correct height all the time. As far as the price if it is clean and has been well maintained then yes that is a good price.
