Q: Power window motor regulator question, 93 Lincoln Town Car?
Ok I found two different prices for these power motor regulators. My window motors work, but the windows won't go up and down. I was looking at power window motor regulators and I found a couple different ones. Here's the links to them. The cost difference is substantially different, and I'm wondering what the difference is between these two products. Yes, I know the one on ebay is for a mark VIII, but that shouldnt make the price differ from a Town Car one too much. Q: 1992 Lincoln Town Car stalling when I first start it in the morning.?
I own a 1992 Lincoln Town Car. It always starts, but after sitting for a few hours with the engine off, my car will stall when I try to ease out the driveway. If I push down harder on the petal it will backfire, then accelerate like normal. My car will run fine after that as long as I'm on the highway or steadily moving. When I come to a stop sign, it will start idleing very rough and sometimes kill. This problem lessens the longer I drive it. I recently changed the fuel filter and the old one had a glue-like substance in it. I checked the new one after a few days and it was clear on both sides. Any suggestions?

A: it had something like glue in the lines?, then thats probably your problem,the lines are partially clogged up.see if you can get the lines off and blow air through them to clean them out.if it was in the filter,then its probably in the lines.

Q: Where is the Ambient Air Temperature Sensor located on a 1992 Lincoln Town Car?
My 1992 Lincoln Town Car Cartier has a problem with the outside temperature reading (-39F, when it's obviously 90F or so) so I thought maybe I need a new sensor for it. Well I know what it's called "ambient air temperature sensor" but I have no idea where it's located in the engine compartment so that I can replace it with a new one. Any advice, help would be greatly appreciated!!! Thanks

I purchased a lincoln town car and my car has a defective plastic intake manifold. Ford was involved in a class action lawsuit. in 2005 Now, What can I do if the recall expired?

A: unfortunately the recall was only an extention of the warranty. not a safety recall. so they only extended the warranty for a short period of time. but do not take it to the dealer to get it fixed. the intake kit is available at autozone for $250. less then half of what ford wants for it. only a couple of hours to replace it. you can get it replaced for less then half of what the dealer will charge you.

Q: Why does the Lincoln Town Car cost $20,000 more than the Mercury Grand Marquis?
Base Price for the Lincoln Town Car: $45,040 Base Price for the Mercury Grand Marquis: $25,280 I know they are both built on the same panther platform and share a majority of the same components. So does the Town Car have $20,000 worth of technology/luxury features or does the "Lincoln" brand name really carry that much weight? I think it's just ridiculous. Somebody please explain this to me.

A: you pay for the name. but if you want to compare the 2 cars you need to compare the town car base model vs. the grand marquis fully loaded model. the town car base model is still fully loaded. when you compare option to option the difference isn't quite so high. more around $10,000.

Q: Where can I find a Car Phone for a '98 Lincoln Town Car?
I purchased a 1998 Lincoln Town Car Signature Series Touring Sedan. The Car came equiped with a Car Phone, but the phone is missing.

A: You could probably find one in a salvage yard fairly easily, they are common with factory phones. Before you go looking check with your cell service provider, we are trying to get the phone in a 2000 town car activated right now and they will not activate it since it is an analog phone and not digital. I have a request into Fords electronic repair center to see if we can retrofit the car with a digital phone.

Q: Can anyone tell me if the a/c clutch should cycle on and off on a 2003 lincoln town car? Mine runs continously
The a/c compresssor runs continously since the compressor was replaced. It used to cycle on and off. Can you tell me if it supposed to cycle on and off. I have a 2003 lincoln town car. Thanks

A: It depends on the weather and if it was charged right , If it runs all the time that's not good It needs to rest some , Maybe the switch that turns it on and off maybe stuck, (cycling) switch check it out, hope this helps.

where can i find a diagram that shows how to take off the inside door panel on the two front doors of a 1985 lincoln town car so that i can re-attach the rod that opens the door latch???? how difficult is it to re-attach the mechanism that opens the outside door latch???

A: take out all the srews first, then work your way around the door panel popping out the push in clips with a forked clip tool. you can get one at most auto parts stores for about 10 bucks. then unhook the wires and the door panel is off.
