Okay, so I'm turning 16 in October and I'm getting my permit this summer so I was wondering, is the volvo c30 considered "expensive"? IDK what "expensive" means when it has to do with cars since I've never had one, but the c30's starting price is $23,800. Is that considered "expensive" or is it a good price for a car? I heard some good car prices are like Toyota Corolla's and stuff and idk what an "ideal" price really is.. omg I sound SO frikkin childish right now lol but it's my first car and I'm OBSESSED with Edward Cullen so I want to own the car Rob's character drives in the movie:)

FYI, I'm NOT a "rich, spoiled girl". If I was, I wouldn't be so god damned concerned with the frikkin price. I'm asking only BECAUSE I want to make sure that I can convince my parents to buy it for me. If its too expensive considering the view of most adults, they won't buy it. If it's not, then they will. So there, quit being judgmental people.

A: Well it depends on how you look at it. Generally the price is reasonable...I don't think $23K is too expensive for a car. But the car certainly looks expensive. I'd buy it.
BUT, if you look at it from an adult point of view, I don't think a 16 year old needs a brand new $23K car. Are you buying it yourself or are mommy and daddy paying for it? Don't forget about insurance, because the pricier the car, the more insurance is going to cost. And it will cost more because it's a sporty car and your'e only 16.
I'm not trying to be rude, but I personally don't think a teenager needs a brand new car, especially an expensive one.

Q: does anyone know how to put the windows up with the keychain remote on a Volvo C30? Or any volvo.
if you hit the unlock button on the remote 3 times and on the 3rd time hold it down it will automatically put the window down. Is there a way to put it up? there is nothing in the owners manual about it. But on car menu there is a button that allows you to turn the auto window up and auto window down feature on and off. Which makes me think that there must be a way to do it. any help would be gr8.
A: Yes, when the car is unlocked or locked, doesn't matter really, but doors must be closed, hold the lock button on remote in for around 7 - 10 seconds, the windows will wind up and car will be locked. If you have a sunroof it will also close, however the remote cannot be used to open the sunroof.

Q: What car should i get. Volvo C30 2.0i R-Design or Subaru Impreza 2.5 WRX?
Both are around same price per month on contract hire. Think the impreza will guzzle the fuel and kill me on company car tax?
A: If your asking what car is the better and more reliable car than the WRX will last longer and be safer and is all around a better car than a Volvo, but it sounds as if you are looking for a company car? So if you want something cheap than the Volvo will certainly provide both the cheap insurance and cheap quality.
Overall, quality wise the WRX tops the Volvo on every aspect, but price of ownership wise the Volvo will be cheaper to own.
FYI the WRX gets 20 MPG city and 27 MPG highway, which really isn't that bad. I have subie and I get 22 city and 28 highway.

A: well i do like Volvo's but their build quality is still not on par with Audi and the A3 is definitly an easier car to live with. Im not usre which one is safer but both Audi and Volvo are at the top of the list when it comes to safety so im sure neither is bad. the A4 and A6 both got best safety pick as well as the Volvo S80 and XC90.
Q: When is the Volvo C30 coming to America???
A: Volvo says they "... will not introduce the C30 before the 2008 model year."
They also say it will have a 218hp engine, which is the T5 engine, not the rougher 168hp 4 cylinder engine. Nice! I'm quite happy with the T5 engine on my S40, so it will be even quicker on the smaller C30.
Q: anyone know how much it is to lease a volvo c30?
A: Leases on these cars are not very good right now. With about 3000 down on a nicely equipped model, your payment is around 500-525 with taxes. You can get into a loaded S80 for that!!! Volvo for some reason is not pushing the leases on the C30. Too bad because it is an AWESOME car.

A: I too was curious, so I e-mailed the official address on the volvo website. A few days later, this was the response from their marketer: This music was tailor made for the intro of the C30 Design Concept in Detroit some years ago. The music was done by the film company Edithouse here in Göteborg, so there is no artist.
As further proof, you can look up the company and the original Detroit premier. Also, there is no band called Cosmic White, leastwise not one with a web presence.

all base models, i like how all of them look so dont consider looks. it will be my first car. consider standard options, reliability, performance

A: Volvo has been the proven leader in safety since 1927. It is their company motto and the first concern followed by quality and then performance. In my opinion, Vovo's are the best bang for your buck! In spite of what many people say, they do not break down alot and are known for attaining hundreds of thousands of miles on the same engine. In fact, the Guiness Book of World Records winner for highest mileage on a car with original engine is a Vovlo. (Over a million miles!)
They far exceed the criteria for attaining 5 stars in safety and each of their cars get a 5 star at each of the eight crash points tested. No other manufacturer can boast that! There is not a single crash zone that gets less than a 5 star.
If you check Consumer Reports this month, it actually says that in it's class, Volvo's are the cheapest vehicles to maintain, ie. parts are not as expensive as you think. However, do realize that you are entering into the luxury car market and service will be more expensive than a Ford or Chevy.
Mini's are fun little cars but maintenence is deplorable. Don't let people tell you that Volvo's are expensive to maintain because it is just not true. The MINI, when an oil change is needed, can be upwards of $100... for an OIL CHANGE! Although they are a fun ride, they are not nearly as safe and are lacking in power.
I don't know much about the Altima but it is a Jap car. If you want a cool European vehicle, the Altima is not. Also, consider that you will be entering into the luxury car market with a Volvo and will be pampered both at the dealer and during service. The Altima certainly doesn't do well in holding it's Value like a Volvo. Being your first car, I am sure you will eventually be trading it in and you want the most bang for your buck then.
Finally, make sure you drive them all. The C30 is a little ROCKET and the T5 engine is a proven, long lasting and VERY dependable engine. The steering is far from 'numb' and handles very well.

I have just brought one of these, what do you guys think of them?
A: The C30 is a fantastic vehicle! Congratulations on your purchase. I have driven a few of them and every one seems fast, fun and responsive. I almost bought a Mini a couple of years ago and was impressed with it but not nearly as impressed as I am with the C30. Not only that, the C30 is safer and more dependable than a BMW. If it is anything like the rest of the Volvo lineup, it should do well in retaining it's value as well.
Maintenance should be nominal as you can go to any Jiffy Lube for oil changes and you only need to have one every 7500 miles! The 2.5T is a workhorse and a proven engine so you will not have any problems there.
Those who say that Volvo's quality has gone down since Ford "bought" them, have no idea what they are talking about. Ford only has a vested interest in them but Volvo is not governed by Ford. Their Values and core beliefs are still very much in tack.
One last thing. Be sure not to loose your keys... they cost over $300 to replace.
