Q: My Volvo C70 Transmission is starting to slip?
I had this rebuilt 10 months ago for $1800, the warranty was 12months or 12k miles. I put 14k miles on it though. What could make this slip? Lack of oil? The only other indicator, I know when they rebuilt this last time, my engine mounts seemed more worn and there has been engine vibration over the 10 months....
A: 1) Yes, fluid could have something to do with this, but I would think a C70 would warn you of low pressure/fluid level. Check it!
2) Worn out engine mounts could explain vibration but not a slipping tranny.
3) Unfortunately, I think you got a bad tranny job. Unless you've been really derelict on checking your tranny fluid nothing should be going worng with just 14k miles on it. Go back, explain the problem, don't let them off the hook for 2k miles and get it fixed!

A: Since the belt is over 5 years old I'd recommend getting it changed as a matter of urgency.
5 years max for any belt as a general rule irrespective of low mileage.

A: I'd choose the Volvo C70, but I'm a little biased on that front.
As mentioned above, if you do get the Saab make sure it's an Aero. The chassis is MUCH better on the Aero models. Saabs that aren't Aero spec will handle as well as the Vauxhall/Opel chassis they are based on.

But only when i push the pedal to the medal. Regular city driving when I am not flooring it, then it's fine and drives nice. Only when I floor it does it sputter....... What can this be???
A: It could be as ease as needing to change the fuel filter , You may wont to add a fuel injector cleaner into your fuel tank at your next fill up.

A: Start with changing the transmission fluid and filter.
Q: I have a 1998 volvo C70. I want to disconnect the ABS warning light in the dash. Or take the ABS-cpu out,?
The ABS sensors were diagnosed as the problem, fixed them. Now the shop wants more money, stating that it's the ABS computer unit now. I don't need ABS. I just want the light to go out.
A: take the light out of the dash, i have the same prob. so i took the light out so i don't have to look at it
Q: I have a '99 Volvo C70 coupe (237 hp version) and I have a problem whenever I turn on the heater...?
...it seems that whenever I turn on the heater, this gross, pungent scent comes out of the vents...the only way to describe the smell is like an "old, urine-soaked gym sock." I only get this problem when the heater is turned on, not when it's on air conditioning. Also, when the heater is on, i get the smell regardless if a/c is on with it or not.
Could this mean I need to replace my cabin air filter or is it a more serious problem??
...for some of the people who've already answered me: if i do have a leak in my heater core, how would i go about fixing it?
A: i know whats causing this,i own a repair shop,and i have had to clean several heater boxes out this year,when one sets under a tree,or a mouse builds a nest in the heater box,the old leaves and stuff turns sour,and this gives of a bad odor,i just got done cleaning out a ford probe that really had a stink in it,it was so bad the owner would rather freeze than use the heater,so i got the pleasure of cleaning this out,i wore a mask it was so bad,but you might have to take the heater box out,and clean the whole thing,that's usually what has to be done to get it all,its pretty gross,when you start cleaning them out,you think its bad now,wait until you get in to the heater box,it doubles,what it smells like now,but to get it all out,that's probably what your going to wind up doing,is removing the box,and cleaning all of it,good luck with it,,i hope this help,s.

Q: does anyone know how to take off an window switch on a Volvo c70.?
A: If you're talking about the switch that makes the windows go up and down, you'll most likely have to take the door panel off. This is most easily done with a putty knife or a door panel removal tool. You have to feel around between the panel and the door for little plastic clips that are around the edge, and pry them out gently. Many of them break easily.

A: go for the volvo i had an alfa 146 ti and according to the dealers they have a problem with cheap oil filters which rust easily and the don't hold alot of oil in the sump as i found out 4grand for a new engine

A: Amazing car for Volvo to come out with. The hardtop convertible puts so much different character into this car. To date, it is the only convertible in its class capable of seating 4 people comfortably; the others in Audi, BMW, and Saab are just two extra seats more suitable for your luggage. However, the T5 engine is not exactly the most potent solution for such a nicely designed car. More sporty character would help the car sell even better, like an R version. At the moment, car's looks exceeds its drive.

I am looking at the hard top convertible head to head with the BMW 3 series covertible but I saw a video on the volvo and the top was up theree was so much creaking and rattiling with the roof is this normal with them or was it a faulty car?

But I have in other new Volvos and theyre great.
I'm almost positive a creaky roof isn't a standard feature, lol. So that car must have a problem.
