Q: I have a 1999 Volvo V70. I need help with finding the location of the Fuel Pump Relay, anyone know where it is?
I would think it would ne with the rest of the fuse/relays under the hood, but I just don't see it? I need some help and it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

A: Go to www.volvo.com and type in 'Fuel Pump Relay' in the search bar. If it is not there, contact the staff by going to 'Contact Us'. Their service is fast and commendable. Hope you solved your problem.

Q: why are my 1998 v70 volvo brakes so soft?
i just bought a 98 v70 volvo wagon and the brakes are very soft. You have to pump them before you feel decent pressure. also it seems as though the abs kicks in way too easy. Any help would be great thanks thanks, thats what i thought. i'm not sure how to award you points, i'm new to this, but thanks

A: definatley air in the brakes if you know anyone who knows how to bleed brakes just ask them to do it with you. It requires you taking the tire and wheel off of the car getting to the brake caliper there is a small nipple on it usually small get someone to pump the brakes three times hold it down. And while they are holding it down open up that small little nipple. Brake fluid will squirt out along with the un needed air tighten it back up and tell him to pump again. The pedal should get harder. (repeat about 3 or 4 times until you get pure brake fluid shooting through with no air bubbles)

Q: The battery has gone flaton my Volvo V70 & it has deadlocked itself.Does anyone know how I can get into it?
Need to recharge the battery but can't get into the car as it has deadlocked itself. So can't open bonnet - help! Can't open doors manually (with key) or with fob.

A: A mechanic just told me this: Hold the key in the door in the unlock position for 10 seconds, three times.

Q: In a 2001 volvo v70 XC, how do i reset the airbag warning (SRS airbag urgent service required)?
nothing wrong with it, just came up after i tested a fuse can it be reset from a regular OBDII diagnostic plug in computer? or does it have to reset a different way?

A: It will need to go to a dealer or service facility that has an actual engine diagnostic machine, not a code reader. They can reset the code for you, it costs @ $100.00 in Michigan.

Q: Why has my Volvo V70 deisel automatic transmission warning light started flashing?
The flashing starts on the control panel & the low gear shift selector button as soon as I turn on the ignition but before as well as after the engine has started. There doesn't appear to be any problem with with gear shift (I have driven 300 miles since it started) & the fluid levels are okay. (the car has done 230,000 miles but is serviced regularly)

A: I get the same thing on my 850 auto and it happens if I shift to L but it goes away after a time in D when I have driven a while and the transmission has warmed up, I think it is the gear selector cable needing adjustment. mine has done almost 200,00 miles so I think it is a wear thing but I like you would welcome confirmation from a volvo specialist.

Q: How do I remove the boot cover on a Volvo v70 (1997).There are two small screws but removing them doesnt help?
It is a v70 estate

A: Its held in place by plastic clips between the cover an the frame - you have to be brave an pull it away from the boot with some gentle but powerful persuasion. then go to halfords to replace the plastic fittings that broke! normally 1/3 of them snap it then then pushes back into place!

Q: Volvo V70 XC battery change question?
i have a 2001 volvo v70 xc and the battery finally went dead this weekend. i went and got a battery and changed it out just like i have done on several other cars. this time, something blew and i have no idea of what it could be. everything works on the car except for the the climate control system representing the fan, a/c, and seat heaters. none of the lights even come on. so if anyone has any advice on what that could be, please let me know! thanks!

A: First check the fuses

Q: I have a Volvo V70. Yesterday it worked fine. Today when I tried to start it, all I got was clicking sounds. ?
I brought in my other car, used jumper cables and the Volvo started right up. I drove it around for 30 minutes or so, backed it into the garage and turned it off. When I tried to start it again I got the clicking sounds. Nothing was left on last night; no lights, no radio, no doors open. No reason as far as I can say as to why the battery discharged, so I am not sure whats up. Do batteries just die like that? The battery is only about 3 years old. What should I do (besides get a new battery)? How can I tell what is draining the battery? And while your answering, please offer up your opinions on the best battery value... Thanks in advance.

A: The clicking sound is due to the starter not trying to engage, but is unable to do so. The most likely culprits are: low battery voltage, due either to a faulty battery and/or alternator, a bad starter solenoid, or bad positive battery cable or connection. The starter solenoid is part of the starter, and due to the fact that your car is fairly new, I doubt that is the cause. Much more likely to be the battery (or alternator, which in turn would lead to a bad battery). Remove the battery from the Volvo and take it to a auto parts store, they will charge and test your battery for free. If that is not the prob, place the charged battery back in the car, then drive it to the parts store and have your starting/charging system checked. That will determine whether the starter or alternator is working as it should. If both are, make sure the battery cable is not loose or corroded. All of the tests I described will be performed free of charge at your local Checker, Autozone, and such, and will help you find the cause of the fault, which will prevent you from buying unnecessary parts.
