Q: would a medium sized exhaust tip sound good on a kia?
its a 2004 kia spectra and i just wantd to make it sound a lil more like a race car. so i dont know wat kind of tip to use. HELP. TANKS
A: Tips don't change the sound.
Q: Should I buy a new Kia or a used Toyota?
Parents think I should buy a brand new Kia- rather than a Toyota Matrix (2004) with 60k miles on it. I'm sooo confused. I really need some opinions.
A: The Kia, being a new car, will lose so much of its value as soon as you sign the papers. The Toyota has already done that. Value-wise, get the Toyota.
Good luck!
Q: Is Hyundai Elantra 2004 a good car to buy? What about Kia? Thank you so much?
A: Hyundai owns Kia.
However, although Kia is getting better, Hyundai's are still considered more reliable in independent testing.
Consumer Reports is a research institution that independently tests all vehicles.
They rated the 2004 Hyundai Elantra as an 'above average' (4 out of 5 stars) pick for a used vehicle. This means you can generally expect good reliability and value.
However, every used car you intend to purchase should be inspected by an independent mechanic before purchasing so that they can tell you if the car has been maintained properly or been in any accidents.
EDIT - hello is typically very good about their answers, but the 100K warranty on Hyundai's and Kia's are not transferable. They are only available to the original owner.
Once the car is sold, the second owner still gets the 5 year, 60K miles bumper to bumper warranty, but the powertrain warranty is reduced to match the bumper to bumper warranty.
Q: Should I buy a Mazda3 or a Kia Spectra5?
Should I buy a 2005 Kia Spectra5 for $7000 and 53,000 miles, or a 2004 Mazda 3 for $6500 and 73,000 miles?
Also, which is better for insurance?
A: You should also consider that such a car may be expensive to insure. Check your insurance rates before buying one, for example here - autoinsurance.noneto.com
Q: I have a 2004 Rendevouz and Need to check the water level. How do I check it? ?
I tried opening the hood and looking for the cap, but it's completely different from my Kia Sephia's layout. Does anyone know where the cap is to check the level? Thanks
A: Your vehicle's radiator cap is not located on the top of the radiator. Most newer GM vehicles use the radiator overflow bottle now as the top of the radiator. Your kia sephia's radiator cap was on the radiator and im sure the cap was yellow and black.
On the Buick, your overflow bottle is in essence the top of the radiator, therefore, check the overflow bottle( which looks similiar to your washer fluid bottle) and remover that cap (when car is cold) you should even be able to see through the overflow bottle. Just keep that bottle fluid level at the full line and that will indicate that the radiator is full as well. You also have GM dex COOL coolant in that vehicle which is orange/red and good for 60-100,000 miles only requires topping off if ever low. Hope this helped ya!
Q: How often do I need a tune up?
I have a 2004 Kia Spectra. I have 24,000 miles on it. When should I get my first tune up?
A: A lot depends on how you drive your car. Highway miles the tuneup will last a lot longer because it is easier on the engine. Less stop and go and engine temps are constant. City driving is harder on an engines tuneup parts .temps are hotter too. Fuel octane has a lot to do with it as well. Higher octane has more detergents and helps burn off the carbon build up on plugs and valves. Best bet is to gauge the gas mileage. If you see a drop off in performance and mileage, then whatever the mileage is, just tune it up. I personally do the tune up with my filters. the filters indicate to me when i need to service the engine. I will check air and fuel filters, if the filters are in need of replacing, i just do the entire tune up the same time. Average can range from 60k to 100k because of the higher energy ignition systems in todays cars.
good luck

Q: My car stalled out while I was driving two times last weeks?
I took it to the dealers for them to look at it under warranty (cheaper that way) and they said there was nothing wrong with it. I also noticed my car is moving a bit more sluggish in the acceleration department where before it had more zip. What could be wrong with it? Should I get a second opinion?
Additional Details
kia ria 2004. I drove it from the east coast during my move out to the west coast. It went through the mountains and I am not sure if that was hard on the car or not.
Second time, the check engine light did come on.
33000 miles on it and I bought it at 22000 miles. I put about 1000 miles on my move to vegas.
Sorry, meant Rio
A: Yeah, like I said, the Check Engine Light is more than likely your problem...Autozone does the diagnostics for free if you can find one...
Q: Are 2004 pt cruisers good cars? should I get one?
can anyone tell me about them? like the mp gallon and most of all the saftey.
are they better than 2006 kia rios?
that was the last car I got (and first), great milage but crunched up like a coke can on a car wreck with a 15mph impact in the front, it's totalled, but my dad is buying me another car and I see a pt cruiser I like, would it be a better car?
A: It will not be as reliable as the Kia Rio, but you should be able to find one at a cheap price.
They do not hold their value at all and are extremely common, so I would recommend a low miles '02-'03.
If you would like to have a reliable car that has good gas mileage and is safe, stick with smaller Japenese cars. The Scion xB is a bit larger than the PT, has better mileage and has unique looks like the PT. You could also look a Honda Civic, Toyota Corolla or Mazda Protege5. All will be more reliable and hold their value.
Q: How do I reset a check engine light?
Help me! I have a 2004 Kia Spectra. I lost my gas cap and just replaced it. I've heard that the check engine light might reset itself, but if it doesn't, does anyone have any suggestions how to do it? I've heard that disconnecting the negative battery cable for 30 sec. or more might work. Does it? I cant get my smog check until its fixed. Thank you to whoever responds!
A: Disconnecting the battery for 10-15 minutes will do the trick. Autozone will do a computer scan and reset the computer as well. This will be free.
Q: what are the best brake pads on the market?
hello
I need to get an inspection by the end of this month and surely know that i won't pass due to my brake pads. they're OEM brake pads for Kia Optima 2004, and not really satisfied with them.
Could anybody tell me one what brake pads are good for just regular sedan? budget-about 50-70 bucks.......
A: Remsa gold brake pads should suffice quite nicely, or akebono ceramic pads ( a bit more cash ). good luck
Q: I intend to sell my 3-year old car. How much do you think it is worth?
Model Kia Rio 1.5, registered Nov, 2004. Good condition with low mileage, accident free. First owner.
A: You can get the estimated value of your car from the Kelley Blue Book or the NADA Guides. Then set your price in the average range for your car.
Good Luck.
Q: who much air do i put in my tires?
i have a 2004 kia mini van, I know if your tires have the right amount of air you get better gas miles, put I dont know how much air I need?
A: There are two sources for this info. The side wall of the tire will have a maximum load limit at XX psi. That psi is the max for the tire. The "correct" tire pressure for your mini van will be in the Owners Manual and is also shown on a label on the door jamb of the driver's door.
Q: Kia Rio owners, do you recommend Kia?
I looking to buy a new small and fuel efficient car without paying premium for the brand name (Toyota and Honda). I am about finish college, so I want to make it a graduation gift to myself. According to my research, American cars (Ford and GM) are good, but I don't think they have reach an stable point in fuel efficiency. Neither I am willing to pay extra becuase the cars claim to be American when the parts are made in China, assembled in Mexico, and sold in the US. So far, it seems Kia has come along way from the low quality characteristic from the 90's. I would like to feedback from any Kia car owner that was purchase after 2004. Thank you so much for your help in advance.
A: one Hyundai owns Kia they are not the same company.
if you want a Kia get an Optima or Rondo, avoid the Rio.
The Rondo has been sold successfully for years in Europe under the name Carens.

Q: Is Hyundai-Kia paying mad $ to lure people?
My understanding is in the auto business, the Koreans mean business and they are gunning for Honda. I heard that they learned their lesson from 2004 and with this new plant outside atlanta, they are paying enormouse amounts of $ to get people there and all kinds of bonuses-especially in the white collar area.
has anyone else heard this?
A: Sounds highly unlikely, with all the layoffs and buyouts at Ford, GM and Chrysler finding good automotive workers will be easy. If they were to pay the same $30+ average that the big 3 were paying they would soon be in the same financial ruin. I don't think Honda/Toyota pays quite that much to average line workers. Even the big 3 is now hiring people at around $15 an hour to do the same work people making twice as much previously did. Atlanta has a large population, so finding employee's shouldn't be a problem. If you want to make some money get a degree in nursing or IT.
