Q: 1993 lexus gs300 lost power to mirrors and climate control?
hey anyone i have a 1993 lexus gs300 i lost power to my climate control and mirrors anyone know what that can be .......i checked the fuse (all)
A: If I remember right on that year under the passenger side instrument panel and scuff plate there are relays for the climate control and blower motor. The relays go out and you lose power to climate and the mirrors. Get a wiring digram to confirm this. Its been a while since I worked on one of those.
Q: How do i go about replacing an o2 sensor for a 2001 lexus gs300? (its sensor2 bank2)?

A: My dad used to use Chilton Auto Repair Manuals periodically and swore by them for the reliability of the information. I couldn't find the two large ones he had, but I don't think his covered Lexus models.

Q: Does a 1999 Lexus GS300 have good gas mileage?
I checked it online and it said 20mpg in the city and 25mpg on the road. Is that decent or bad? I'm a college student but really doesnt do alot of driving..Estimate how much it would cost to fill up?
also i was told i can use regular unleaded gas instead of premium...is that true?

A: TAKE TO DEALERSHIP!!!!!! some shops- jiffy lube, express oil change and the such, have no freaking clue about how to do anything else to a car except change oil, and i have seen cases where they can't seem to even do that right .... just take my advice and take it to a lexus dealership
Q: why is my lexus gs300 (1998) warning lights still on after replacing a blown catridge fuse?
After replacing a blown catridge fuse the "VSCoff" and the" ABS" warning lights continue to stay on the dashboard. The Toyota house that did the repair said they did not know but that I need a new battery. could this be the problem.
Also, speaking of battery what kind of battery is best for this car given that i live in the south region or texas to be specific. I hear people talking about gel vs. flooded battery and its confusineg please help. Thank you in advance.
A: The dealer specifically told you that the issue was a blown fuse? Usually when something like that comes on, it's not just a simple fuse issue, but something wrong with the system during the startup diagnostic test. Check the fuse again and see if they are blown, otherwise go back to dealer and have them test it again and if they can't find out, find another dealer that can.

Q: How do I change the brake lamp on a Lexus GS300? There doesn't appear to be a way to open the back of the lamp
A: on some cars you have to take out the tail light to get to the bulbs. open the trunk and pull the carpeting away and there will be some 10mil nuts or bolts there, or pulling the carpet away might give you access to the bulbs. then just pull out the tail light and twist out the bulbs thats bad and put it back in reversing how you took it out.

A: If like any Lexus I've ever had or driven, you press the "unlock" button and hold down until the windows start rolling down/open. Then release to stop or continue to hold to roll all the way down. If your's does not work this way, it's possible it's either broken, or the CBest setting was changed at some point.
Q: Do anyone know how to connect an aftermarket radio to an factory amplifier I have a 1999 lexus gs300 explain?
I want to connect an aftermarket head unit and a aftermarket amplifier to the factory speakers. Can anyone explain the correct procedure to install them. How do i disconnect the factory amplifier and install the aftermarke amplifier with the aftermarket head unit. I know the color of the speaker wires . First in order to connect the aftermarket head unit do i tap in the wires that are coming from the factory wire harness that is hooked to the factory radio. Secondly how do i bypass the factory amplifier and install the aftermarket amplifier to the factory speakers Im using a four channel amplifier
A: See if there's a wiring harness for the speaker wires coming OUT of the factory amp. That's the one you'll be tapping into from your amp(s) to the factory speakers (bypassing the factory amp).
You can also unplug the block from factory amp and splice into those wires to the speakers. (recommend not cutting them)
Be careful how brutal you are on bypassing the factory amp. If you want to return it to stock, it can be a real pain if you've cut wires too short to be stripped, or toss the wire block from the factory amp.
Personally, I'd run all new wires and leave the stock wiring unharmed/unused.

A: i mechanic for a living,,and that's not normal you have a bad throttle position sensor on it,,that's what will cause it to race like this,,you,ll need to get it fixed as soon as you can ,,also have them do a scan and check the temperature sensor on it,,this will sometimes cause it but will not show up on it with a bad throttle position sensor,,good luck hope this help,s.
Q: I have a 2000 Lexus GS300. The drivers side floor keeps getting wet every so often. ?
I have replaced windshield, pulled carpet back and flooded the car with water to check for a leak into the floor board. I have ran water through the drains on the sunroof. I am out of options. It is like there is a bladder the water collects in and then empties every so often.
A: It's the drain line from your Evaporator. It collects the moisture from your A/C and drains it to the outside when your using your A/C. If that line is plugged,broken or removed it drains into the vehicle. You'll sometimes hear the fluid when you take a hard turn but that's most likely your problem. Check under your blower fan and you should be able to see a black hose that goes under the carpet and out the firewall

Q: How do I check the oil in my Lexus GS300?
The owners manual didn't come with it
A: Open the hood of the car, there is a pull handle under the steering wheel.
Now look at the front of the engine compartment and you will see a round object and when you pull it straight up there will a long metal tail.
Wipe metal tail clean and stick back in hole. Pull out again and read marks on tail. There is a range where the oil is full and at the bottom of range it will say add. Add usually means 1 quart of oil.
Now close hood and you are done.

The trasmission fluid was low so I put some in (from the dealarship), now my car doesn't take off and won't go past 40 mph. The RPM's go up but it will not accelerate I was thinking maybe it's a spark plug?
