Q: I want to give my lexus IS250 more hp and torque whats the best way to do so?
I do not know to much about how to mod cars either.... I was thinking about supercharging it or turbo charging it and getting some better exhaust, but i don't know that much about moding cars =/

A: Supercharging or Turbo would be the best way to give it max power, but of course that will run you large coin. Exhaust is probably the cheapest way to give it some decent hp, generally speaking.

Q: What would you buy? 08 Toyota Fj Cruiser or 07 Lexus is250?
Want to try to find a nice off road vehicle that looks good on road as well and the only one I can find that i like is an fj. I test drove one and really like it. If I dont get a truck then I was going to get a lexus is250 cause I think its a awesome looking car. Just wondering what you guys would get and why. Thanks

A: The FJ Cruiser is just a fun truck. It attracts lots of adoring looks from peole that dont quite know what it is, and if you enjoy the attention then it is your best bet. I have driven a couple of them and every time I had a huge smile on my face! Their just fun to drive, especially with a manual transmision. The clutch is easy to work, very forgiving and shifts as smooth as butter. It also has 5 seats and pleanty of cargo room, so if you need to be hauling people and/or bags and equiptment it is obviously the best bet. I have not driven the IS 250 but i have driven the IS350, and what can I say, if "fun" means "fast" to you then you have found your paradise on wheels! It is quick and handles great. Being more of a luxary vehicle the materials are of higher quality, though the FJ is built just as well (Lexus is of course owned by Toyota and they both pride themselfes on the quality of their products). If I were to get a Lexus I personally would go for the GS460 or hold out for the IS-F, but both are much more pricey since the IS250 is the baby in the lexus line-up. In the end it all comes down to what you are looking for in a vehicle. I am young (22) and enjoy the outdoors therefore the FJ would be my weapon of choice. Let me know how How it goes! Keepin' it classy, JS

Q: How do I program my garage door opener to my lexus IS250?

A: 1. If you are programming it for the first time press and hold the two outer HomeLink buttons and release when the HomeLink button flashes after about 20 seconds. 2. Position the remote garage door opener 1-3 inches away from the HomeLink buttons (keep the flashing light in your view) 3. Simultaneously press the HomeLink button you want to open the garage door and the button on the remote garage door opener until the flashing light flashes rapidly.

Q: I have a 2007 Lexus is250 and I want to know if the car's "computer" stores a history of trouble codes?
The car has had considerable trouble and has stopped completely on the freeway twice. The first time I took it in and the dealership said that they couldn't find anything wrong with it. So when it shut down on the freeway this initial time, the check engine light came on and so did the VSC light. The next morning when it was towed to the dealership it started up fine, no trouble/warning lights at all. The second time-same exact thing-towed from Arizona to Albuquerque-this time-two months later they said there was sugar in my tank. Now Lexus Roadside doesn't want to pay for my rental reimbursement because they said the "codes could not be duplicated". So I want to know if the car itself stores these codes and a history of when there has been a trouble light initiated. They are making it sound like I have nothing better to do then to call tow trucks and sit on the shoulder of freeways-absolutely rediculous!!!! WTF!!! Any insight would be GREATLY appreciated. Oh and BTW-Lexus sucks!!!!!!

A: I'm not sure if it's 95 or 96, but any car newer than that has the new OBDII standard for reading error codes and this is stored until it's erased by someone with a reader. So, for example if you have an error code for P0110 and don't do anything about it, then get one for P0220 and so forth... once the mechanic puts the reader to it, it will pick up all the errors that still exist or are in "memory." Once the mechanic is done, he will typically reset the CEL (check engine light) warning.

Q: Choosing between AWD or RWD for Lexus is250 in NJ?
AWD is roughly 3000 USD more expensive, however I am told by the dealer that AWD is a good feature to have for driving in NJ. Is this true? Should I just settle for a RWD vehicle. Greatly appreciate your inputs. Thanks.

A: Get the AWD. I took a RWD IS to Colorado last winter. Did $3K in front end damage when I hit a stop sign. $3K over a 5 year loan is $50 per month. $50 a month is worth the peace of mind you'll have that you know you can drive in certain conditions.

Q: What type of fuel does the new Lexus IS250 take?

A: Premium fuel.

Q: What size tires do I need for my 07 Lexus IS250/350?
It's time for my first replacement tires. I know the rear tires are bigger than the front two which is the reason why they cannot be rotated, but I am unsure what size tires I need. I don't understand the tire label on the side and what is the best brand I can get that looks like low profile tires. I know its going to cost a lot, does anyone have any experience changing your Lexus tires? If so please assist me. thank you

A: my husband works at lexus and he says 225/40r18 88y in the front and 255/40r18 93y in the back and they are expensive and dont put cheap tires on them because you will have a road noise from hell. i highly suggest putting dunlop sp sport max or some bridgestone turanza or potenza.

Q: Does every Lexus IS250/350 come equipped with 6 Cylinder fuel injected system? ?
I'm looking into buying a car and have been checking online. some vehicles (referring to Lexus IS250/350's) were posted as "6 cylinder", the others were posted as "6 cylinder; fuel injected". I was just wondering if there's a difference because there is definitely a price difference. Any info would help. Thanks

A: As far as i know, every gas powered vehicle (built 1990+) on the planet has a fuel injected system. The price difference is the engine size, the IS250 is a 2.5liter v6 less power better fuel ecomony. IS350 3.5liter v6 more power less fuel economy.

Q: jealous to lexus IS250 plate light, how to change mine to looks like it?

A: You can easily find the white LED lights on Ebay for your specific vehicle and swap the bulbs from your existing license plate light. It shouldn't cost much at all.
