Q: How can I disable horn sound when using power locks on Mazda 3?
I just got a 2005 Mazda 3, which I love, but the horn beeps every time I use the power locks. A nuisance for my neighbors and a pesky feature. I want it off but the service peeps at the dealer say it only stays on. Can I only ever lock my car noisily? this is ridiculous. Any advice?

A: You could read the owner's manual or look at the back of the key fob. My car is a Subaru WRX, but it gives you directions on how to set the sound settings on the back of the remote.

Q: Why is the steering on mazda 3 heavy?
I just bougth a 2004 mazda 3 but the steering feels heavy compare to the matrix. does anyone know some mechanics ? what could be the problem? thanks

A: Just a little heavier than the Matrix? That's by design - Mazda positions all of its cars as being sportier driving than most (zoom zoom), so the steering is a little heavier/faster and the suspension is firmer than Toyota's which are not as driver oriented. If it's a big difference, perhaps there is something wrong, but I'm guessing not based on your description. You can always test drive a new one for comparison, if it's the same then you be sure thats the way it's designed. I test drove a Mazda3 a couple of years ago and noticed that, but I liked it, very good steering on that car.

Q: What's a "sexier" car - the Honda Civic (sedan) or Mazda 3?
In Australia, we only get the Honda Civic in sedan form. For a male driver, which is sexier to drive? A Honda Civic sedan (black), or a Mazda 3 (in red)?

A: Sexy? neither one. they are both great cars but sexy.......no

Q: Is this a good deal on a Mazda 3?
I have been looking for a car and found a 2005 Mazda 3, 4 door Sedan Automatic that has only a few minor scratches but overall is extremely clean. It has appx 21,500 miles and they are asking $15,991 on the window sticker. Is this a good deal? Any feedback on the Mazda 3? 4 Cyl. 2wd Bucket Front Seats, Center Arm Rest, Details - Clock, Front Console With Storage, Intermittent Front Wipers, Passenger Air Bag, Power Steering, Rear Defogger, Tilt and Telescopic Steering

A: Well, thats the price of the 1.6 liter mazda 3 sedan here in the philippines if you convert it in peso. Thats brand new already. As far as i know, cars are cheaper in the US. So for me, its a bad deal. I say no deal to it...hehe...also if you plan on buying it still make sure you know why its being sold. probably has been reconditioned or been in a terrible accident or stuff like that. anyway, mazda 3 is really good. got one and enjoying driving it.

Q: Does anybody know anything about mazda 3's exhaust system?
I was wanting to give my mazda 3 a deep aggressive tone, but I don't really know where to start. A guy at a muffler shop told me to get a high flow catalytic converter and a new muffler. I don't have a clue what kind to buy though. Cost is an issue. I found some on ebay at good prices but I don't know what to buy. Also, I hear that mazda 3 has two catalytic converters so now I really don't know what to think. Anybody have any ideas or info?

A: if you have the 2.0L motor leave it alone or else it will soud really ricer now if you have a 2.3L like my wifes car I just had the rear muffler chopped off and had a 2 1/2 inch pipe and a nice big flush mount tip and sounds so smooth not loud has a deep growl sound to it. She loves the way it sounds. and it only cost $60 for everything so I say try it out then if you dont like it just have the stock muffer back on watch the link below this guy did a straight pipe from the front but its to load for me... if you only replace the rear muffler like I said you will get this same tone just a little quieter

Q: I just leased a 08 mazda 3 S and the bass goes in and out. Will the dealership fix this, anyone have this prob
I just leased a 08 mazda 3 S and the bass goes in and out. It seems the higher the volume the more frequent it happens. It's a brand new car. Will the dealership fix this, and has anyone heard of this before or had this problem?

A: Yes,the car is under MFG warranty for the entire lease.

Q: changing the dash colors on a 08 mazda 3?
i just recently purchased a 08 mazda 3 and i was wondering is there a way to change to the interior dash colors from mazda red ( or orange however you take it ) to like a yellow or something to better match the paint job im going to try and go for.

A: Do you mean the gauge lighting? I would leave it the way it is. Keep your Mazda in factory condition.

Q: How often should i change the oil on a 2006 mazda 3?
i know most say 3000 miles, but i was just wondering will it be okay to go over that? if so how much?

A: Just follow what Mazda recommends, period. If it is 7500 miles or 10,000 miles then follow it unless your vehicle is used under severe conditions then change it no more than twice as often. Q: Does anyone have any opinions on the Mazda 3?
I'm considering buying a new model. Anyone got any good or bad info?

A: I own a 05 Mazda3, I have just over 20k miles on the odometer. I was reluctant about the Mazda brand and unsure of it's commitment to an excellent product, much less a competitive product. I am pleasantly surprised and happy I took the plunge. The Mazda3 is based on Ford's C-1 platform, this same platform is utilized on the Volvo s40 series cars. Mazda's research and development placed emphasis on the current mzr motor. It is the workhorse motor for the brand. I have read that the engine is good for 275k miles before any major repairs. Mazda placed great engineering energy in this 4 cylinder engine and it was recognized in "Wards" annual review as one of the best engines for 2005 and 2006. I have a cold air intake and lowered the car 1.5 inches and a cat-back exhaust, I added Michelin sport all season tires and enkei rims. They are 13 pounds a piece as compared to the Mazda rims at 25 pounds a piece. The Mazda gene pool is greatly demonstrated in this configuration, the engine is more responsive on the mid to high end, the handling is second to none and the vehicle quality is more than you pay for. It is simply amazing. The windows are tinted to reduce the "fogging up" because the glass is very thin, tinting the windows help in this area. I questioned then, how can they build a top notch car for such a cheap price? One of the most costly items in developing a car is the chassis then the motor. The cost sharing with Ford, the safety strategies of Volvo and the small car traits of Mazda have paid off handsomely for the Mazda3. Mazda builds great small cars, probably one of the best in the business, you can look to the miata's reputation and performance specs throughout the years. Mazda parts are not expensive and the stereo system is on par with what you get in any other brand. However, there are a few downsides to Mazda. The first is the Mazda brand is being built into a prestige brand, it doesn't have the legacy of BMW's performance and reputation and so Mazda history is spotty. Mainly, because they lost their focus on what they have done best, build small cars for a niche market of individualists. In Japan, more accessories are readily available, but here you will be frustrated on the "go parts" i.e. headers, but they have a few nice "bling" accessories if that is your thing. The dealer network is not the strongest in the business. The consumer is hard pressed to get the latest iteration of Mazda products, for instance the Mazda-Speed3 is hard to find at most Mazda dealerships. The Service Departments are not uniformly good. They have their fair share of bad apples, and the Warranty department in Irvine California has a lot to be desired. One good example is the eccentric Mazda Rx8, not every dealership has a mechanic available to service this car. The manufacturer has had some major hiccups on the rotary motor and unless you are a gear-head you really might find yourself in a love hate relationship with the Rx8. Mazda definitely makes a good product, they need to work on their dealership network and service departments. What this means to you is that you can purchase a best in class product, it can be customized with a great deal of effort, the car is simple and reliable much like it's miata sibling and it is capable of lasting 10 years or better given the proper TLC.

Q: Is a Mazda 3 a good car for a teenage girl?
I want one for my birthday. Did some research on it and it seems prettty good. I like the look of the car. What do you think? thanks.

A: Of course, it's a nice car. Mazda wins third time for quality :) So, it's a High Quality Car ;)

Q: Is there a trick to Mazda 3's rear brake calipers? Can't collapse it with pad spreader?
Tried using the pad spreader, it bent. The rear calipers have a parking brake cable, removed that too. Seems the caliper is stuck?

A: Some of the newer models require a tool that is three pronged and the pistons in the caliper screw in to spread--talk to a local auto parts store, the y can tell you and usually have loaner tools

Q: what is the part on a mazda 3 called located at the side bottom or the car?
it's the long lean strip on the passenger side. i hit it with my car and need to replace it but i cant figure out what it's called.

A: The side skirts?

Q: What is the difference b/w a mazda 3 and a mazdaspeed3?
Besides the engine and wheels what are the differences? Is the body style different? etc

A: The transmission is different. The suspension. The exhaust. The interior. The front air dam. The rear spoiler. That should be it.

Q: i bought a brand new mazda 3, the bass on the stereo drops out occassionally during songs, andy suggestions?
It happens during radio and cd playtime, when i adjust the volume the bass returns. What can I do?

A: If the vehicle is brand new, take it back to the dealer and let them fix/replace the radio for you. That should be covered under warranty.

Q: What is the best car pc/computer for a mazda 3.?
I want the car pc/computer to be able to connect to the stock radio/cd player but have the stock radio/cd player still be able to work. If it would be nice to have it go through the AUX. button. I want a car pc for navigation and be able to play music from the pc.

A: Ahh, a carputer. One idea is to have a "non-hard drive" based computer that runs standalone Windows XP from a Bootable USB drive that runs the music player of your choice using plugins. Your MP3's are stored on another USB drive that can be removed for editing. This all ties into your sound system (amp subs/speakers). No hard drive means nothing will crash. A touch screen display is really the only other peice of equipment needed that can be custom mounted in your dash as you say. Look up BartPE and Sherpya. These two guys found a way to run the full GUI of Windows XP on a USB drive (under 600 Mb). A shuttle style computer is all you need for the computer. Here is a good place to start: http://www.mp3car.com/vbulletin/index.php __________ I currently use a bootable WinXP CD for "hard to remove" spyware and virus' from peoples machines.
