Q: i just bought a 08 mazda cx9. is there any way to disable the nav lock?
everytime u start moving over 5 miles per hour the nav lcks. hiw do u remove that feature?
A: Hopefully there is no way to defeat this SAFETY feature.
You might think it's a pain, but it forces you to pretty well pull out of moving traffic to use NAV. This is far better than having you completely distracted in hand control, thought, and vision from what you're supposed to be doing when rolling down the road in a 5000 lb missile...i.e. driving!
Between everyone yapping on cell phones while driving, teenagers texting while driving, and all these goofs f-ing around with their GPS systems while driving I'm amazed I can get to and from work each day.
Leave it be...you and whoever you would have killed while playing with the NAV will thank you later...

A: Based on historical information, Mazda's have better resale than GM.
The CX-9 should hold it's value better.
You actually may want to skip them both and check out the Saturn Outlook. It is the EXACT same vehicle as the Acadia and less expensive. Any amount you would have saved in resale from the CX-9 you will make up for in the savings of the purchase price on the Outlook.

Q: Editing "Home" location on GPS - Mazda CX9 GT AWD?
Does anyone know how to edit the home location - I follow the manual and it states you can classify the category as preset destinations or home - unfortunately home is always grayed out. Any suggestions?
A: Take it to the Dealer and have them reset the Home location on GPS. This is just a guess, if new, they may not have prepared the system to have a home base in the first place. As you are aware your home address can be entered for "Home". It could just be the equivalent of a reboot on a laptop. I had the same thing happen to me with my Nav System on my Lexus.
Q: mazda cx9 gps - address entry while driving?
I noticed when driving you cannot enter a destination address into the GPS as all the options are grayed out. Does anyone know if this is a permanent safety feature? Can this be turned off? What if you want to have the passenger enter the address?
A: It is a safety feature that can not be turned off. It is kinda of a bummer but thats the way it is.

A: My vote is the CX9. Reason 1, Motortrends 08 SUV of the year (wasn't included in the 09 comparison) but thats another story, Reason 2, 2009 No. American Truck of the Year. Reason 3, Made in Japan, The Highlander is made in the US. As far as reliability, Didn't Toyota just "Buy-Back" Tacoma's??? They used to share the same platform. Resale... Unknown right now as the Highlander is a new release. The Mazda 3 holds value and is higher rated econo car than the Corolla.It was the Driving dynamics was the closer in my opinoin and it is the one I bought.

A: depends. most car companys have the same rim sizes but some have a slight difference. Look and see what size the rim is... 20 in, 19in. If you mean switching the tire and the rim together on the cars just jack up your car take off a tire and put the other on. if it wont rub the fenders when going or turning its fine.

A: I would go with the CX9. It has better styling, is more reliable, and has better resale value. It is also better on gas.

A: The reliability is unknown, as it is a brand new car, so only time will tell if it is a "good" suv. Here's a review of the car to check out. It is not going to be the World's greatest mountain climber, but for the average SUV driver, its unibody construction will yield a more car like ride, and it can haul all your stuff.

The Infiniti FX45 was soundly defeated by the Acura MDX; Hence, the FX35 was not necessary.
