Q: Does the 2001 Mazda Tribute stock stereo have auxiliary input jacks?
I don't have access to the vehicle right now, but the car in question is a 2001 Mazda Tribute, with the stock single CD player (no changer option). I would like to know if the stock CD player has an aux input jack on the back of the unit, either RCA or 3.5mm jack.

A: radio needs to have a mini disc button

Q: What is your satisfaction rating of a Mazda Tribute?
Is the SUV reliable, have you had any major problems, how satisfied are you? How does it compare to its peers? I've looked at consumer reports, just wanted to see what yahoo users have to say.

A: I am a huge fan of ANYTHING Mazda. Would not consider buying anything else. But...I have heard that the dependibility ratings on the Tribute leave much to be desired. Not sure why exactly but this model seems to have more problems than any other of the Mazdas. If you haven't already, check out Edmunds.com you can find out virtually anything you want there including consumer discussion pages. Good luck!

Q: What kind of gas mileage should I expect for a 2001 Mazda Tribute?
It has a 6 cylinder engine and is not 4WD.

A: 17 miles a gallon in town and 24 on the freeway. Was the EPA estimate your driving style and car maintence may cause those figures to vary.

Q: How much does it cost to fill up a hybrid suv, like the Saturn or Mazda Tribute?
What is the size of the tank as well as the real miles on a tank of gas? I am just tring to see if hybrids are an idea whose time has come since gas prices are on the rise, $3.19-$4.00 a gallon by Thanksgiving.

A: The Mazda Tribute Hybrid has a 15-gallon gas tank, and it gets about 30 miles to the gallon in normal driving (EPA's estimate is about 32 miles a gallon). You can get about 450 miles on one full tank. The Saturn Vue Green Line has an 18.3 gallon tank, and it averages 24 miles to a gallon (EPA's estimate is 25 MPG combined). It gives you about 430 miles to a tank, but it will cost you about $10 more (3 gallons) to fill it up than the Mazda. I like the Mazda Tribute Hybrid better-- It has a much better drivetrain than the Saturn Vue Green Line. The Mazda uses a Power Split Device transmission, which has just a single gearset-- No gear-shifting, no clutch, no torque converter, no CVT belts. This simplicity means the PSD tranny is very tough. The Saturn on the other hand has a complex regular gear-shifting 4-speed automatic transmission with all of the potential problems a regular tranny can develop. Unlike the Saturn, the Mazda Tribute Hybrid does not have a starter, alternator or timing belt / chain. Less things to wear out. After the Federal Tax Credit rebates, the two actually cost about the same-- The Mazda Tribute Hybrid 2WD has a $3,000 tax credit while the Saturn is eligible only for $650. After driving a car equipped with a Power Split Device transmission, I'm never going back to a car with a conventional tranny. Hope this helps.

Q: I have 2001 Mazda Tribute, What are the biggest tires I can put on?
I'd rather get the extra height than the width if I had to choose one or the other due to clearance issues. Would a 305/70-16 fit without issues?

A: 265/70 R16

Q: how much can i expect to pay for car tags on a 2004 mazda tribute?
Just bought one and was wondering what tags are going to cost, roughly.

A: The cost of a tag will vary state by state. If you live in state that does vehicle devaluation, you will pay more for your tag than a state that charges a flat fee, with room for the county and city to add on for road maintnance. Your best bet is to check if your state's DMV is online. If they are online, enter all the appropriate info and see what it all comes out to being. I live in state that is very online. Good luck.

Q: How does the Mazda Tribute differ from the Ford Escape, besides brand name?
I have been told that they are the "same car," but I am no expert, so I'd like to know why I would purchase one over the other. I'm looking at real quality issues, not appearance.

A: Same thing, except that the Mazda didn't offer hybrid powertrain until 2008.

Q: Should I buy a Mazda Tribute?
I need to buy a car, I want a second hand one (cheaper). A family friend is selling an '04 Mazda Tribute for 10,500. Being a family friend, i know that it is good condition and has been kept well. It is 4WD which is good as in Cincinnati, we get snow and ice in the winter. it will be used as a second car for me and my family. If you have one, how many miles per gallon do you get? Would you buy it?

A: It's a decent vehicle -- not the best in it's class, but not bad. You didn't say whether its a 4cyl or 6cyl version, but I htink you can expect low 20's mpg. The HOnda CRV or RAV4 (newer ones) have more room inside, are safer, and will get mid to high 20's mpg, but they also cost more. You probably know it's basically the same as a Ford Escape. I owudl check to see hw well it's been maintained first.

Hi, All I am looking for a car and I found this car "Mazda Tribute MY2003 Limited year 2003". But the Odometer is 245,983KM In car live time Howmuch is the Odometer can be and is it 245,983 KM is too much Please tell me what i have to look for when i buying a car Thanks, All I am thinking of buying this car http://yahoo.drive.com.au/used/search/detail.aspx?id=3794650&pg=3&pp=14&d=0&nv=1&sg=256552046&mode=Specs any advice about it, please

A: In general a car is getting tired once it ticks over to 300,000k's.....bearings begin to fail, and multiple systems within the engine bay (steering, cooling, electrical, ect) can begin to cause issues. If you aren't mechanically minded steer clear and buy something around 120,000 but watch out with buying a car at 90,000 as the 100,000 service can be $$$$$ 60,000k's a year is a heap of k's and the price reflects this, check Redbook http://www.redbookasiapacific.com/au/vehicle/prices.php?id=79872 for approximate valuations. No it's not a good buy if you want trouble free motoring! Hope that hasn't confused you.

Q: How do you turn on the water for the windscreen in a mazda tribute?
American...

A: English or american

Q: I have a mazda tribute v6 that only makes maybe 17 miles to the gallon?
it has 95,000 miles and no matter how i drive it the best I can get it about 17 miles, maybe 19 all highway. I've had a full tune up about a year ago. What can I do? I can't even make 300 miles before I fill up and the gas capacity is 15.3 gallons. I also make sure my tires are aired up too. I have the ES 2wd

A: There's nothing you can do to the Tribute to improve on the MPG. That's what they get. The mpg you're getting just tells me that you aren't beating your car up. It's a 200 hp V6 and an SUV- sounds pretty good at 17 mpg. I would expect less from most drivers. Minivans get about the same. If you're looking for something to help improve that, it doesn't exist. People tend to think that they can do better than the manufacturer. Remember this: The manufacturer spent years and millions of dollars in research and development to find the perfect balance for your vehicle. If you improve in one area, you'll sacrifice something in return. It's built to be the best it can be at everything. By the way, those are nice. Did you by the LX or ES? Just asking. FYI: I don't believe that you are doing anything wrong with this truck. Real world economy would dictate that your mpg is accurate at 17/19 mpg. C7S makes some valid points but your Tribute sounds like every other V6 Tribute I've encountered. I personally know eight people that either own a Tribute or an Escape (same car), and they all get about the same mpg that you get with the exception of one who gets less- but she has four wheel drive and live in the mountains.

Q: What type car battery do I replace for a Mazda Tribute 2005 V6?
Is their a website to look up car battery types?

A: Wherever you want to buy it, should have a book with the replacement #. It's made by Ford so it may have a reverse post setup. Just check at the store where you want to buy the new one
